Thanks To General Petraeus, Our Leadership And The Sacrifice Of Brave Young Americans. To Deny That Their Sacrifice Didn't Make Possible The Success Of The Surge In Iraq, I Think Does A Great Disservice...the Progress Has Been Immense.

I Say That The United States Of America Is A Unique Experiment In History. I Believe In American Exceptionalism. I Wasn't For Sending Ground Forces Into Libya. It Would Have Been Counterproductive, But We Are An Inspiration To These People. I Know Because I've Looked Them In The Eyes, And They Looked At Me. They Look To America For Inspiration And Leadership.

I Have Said From The Beginning That Pat Buchanan Left The Republican Party The Day He Questioned America's Involvement In Defeating Nazi Germany.

I Intend To Do What I Can, Working With My Congressional Colleagues, Republicans And Democrats, To Help Bring About The Changes To The Practices And Institutions Of Our Democracy That They Want And Deserve.

Neither Party Should Be Defined By Pandering To The Outer Reaches Of American Politics And The Agents Of Intolerance, Whether They Be Louis Farrakhan And Al Sharpton On The Left, Or Pat Robertson Or Jerry Falwell On The Right.
