God Does Not Make Us Holy In The Sense Of Character; He Makes Us Holy In The Sense Of Innocence, And We Have To Turn That Innocence Into Holy Character By A Series Of Moral Choices.

Spiritual Character Is Only Made By Standing Loyal To God's Character, No Matter What Distress The Trial Of Faith Brings. The Distress And Agony The Prophets Experienced Was The Agony Of Believing God When Everything That Was Happening Contradicted What They Proclaimed Him To Be; There Was Nothing To Prove That God Was Just And True, But Everything To Prove The Opposite.

God Seems To Have A Delightful Way Of Upsetting The Things We Have Calculated On Without Taking Him Into Account. We Get Into Circumstances Which Were Not Chosen By God, And Suddenly We Find We Have Been Calculating Without God; He Has Not Entered In As A Living Factor. The One Thing That Keeps Us From The Possibility Of Worrying Is Bringing God In As The Greatest Factor In All Our Calculations.

God's Training Ground, Where The Missionary Weapons Are Found, Is The Hidden, Personal, Worshiping Life Of The Saint.

The Touchstone Of The Holy Spirit’s Work In Us Is The Answer To Our Lord’s Question: “who Do Men Say That The Son Of Man Is?” Our Lord Makes Human Destiny Depend On That One Thing, Who Men Say He Is, Because The Revelation Of Who Jesus Is Is Only Given By The Holy Spirit.
