I Do Think That Campaigns Are About

The Fact Is That A Lot Of The Spending Increases Came During The Bush Administration. Two Unpaid For Wars We Got Ourselves Engaged In. A Prescription Drug Plan That Added Enormous Amounts To Our Spending, And The Tax Cuts At The High End That Did Not Create Jobs And Create Revenue Coming.

Of Course The Issue Of Ending War, And Creating Prosperity; They're Overarching Issues All The Time. But Right Now, The Challenge To This Generation I Believe Is The Climate Crisis. It's A National Security Issue, It's A Health Issue In Terms Of Clean Air, It's A Competitiveness Issue In Terms Of Innovation And It's A Moral Issue To Preserve The Planet For The Next Generation.

I Went To Congress To Change The Policies Of Our Country. I Did Not Go To Change The Behaviors Of Members Of Congress.

I Believe That Women Are Rising To The Occasion To Tackle Many Challenges. Whether It's Issues That Relate To Prosperity, The Defense Of Country, The Economy Of Our Country; Issues That Have Traditionally Been Considered Women's Issues Like Health And Education And The Environment Are Now Being Defined In Terms Of Our National Strength. So I Think Women Have Made A Big Difference In Putting Things In Perspective.

By Making College More Affordable For All And More Accessible For Minority Students, The First New Higher Education Authorizing Legislation In A Decade Will Help Strengthen Our Nation And America's Middle Class, And Spur A New Age Of Innovation And Ingenuity In Our Country.
